This is commedia dell’arte in Carlo Goldoni’s masterful rendition. The driving force behind the plot is Harlequin (played by Krzysztof Szczepaniak), who in serving two masters mixes up orders, lets slip matters requiring great discretion and generally complicates the turn of events. The best of everything is on display in this rollercoaster paced production: expressive gestures, song and dance, miserly Pantalone and arrogant Dottore, as well as the requisite collection of romantic lovers.
