YESTERDAY YOU WERE ANGRY IN GREEN

How much of the mother is there in the daughter, and how much of herself does the mother find in her daughter? Are they mirror images of each other? What if it is easier to connect with the surface of a mirror than with the gaze of the other person?
In this tender narrative, the protagonist faces not only a new social role, that of being a mother, but also the completely different world of her daughter – a world on the autism spectrum. In trying to capture the daughter's unique self, the mother lays herself bare; while looking at her daughter's otherness, she also discovers her own. In telling the story of Ruda, she is in fact also telling her own story, combining and confronting two personalities – two atypicalities.
Eliza Kącka's latest autobiographical book Yesterday You Were Angry in Green, which took the publishing market by storm in 2024, is a story about love, courage and being different, as well as about fears, misunderstanding and social pressure. Above all, however, it is a story about a unique mother-daughter relationship.
The creators of the performance have adapted this non-obvious study of relationships, producing an introspective narrative about a mother, an author and a woman.
